This loan payment calculator from Lodgeleaf Business Loans in Lexington, KY estimates the monthly payment, total interest and total repaid on a business loan from three inputs: the amount, an annual rate you choose, and the term. It starts at $250,000, but any amount can be entered. The rate you type is your assumption, not an offer; funding partners set actual terms.
What this $250K calculator works out
It is a standard amortizing loan calculator. From the amount, the annual interest rate and the term in months, it returns three figures: the monthly payment, the total interest paid over the term, and the total repaid (amount plus interest).
Beyond those three outputs it computes nothing: no amortization schedule, no balloon payments, no lease payments and no merchant cash advance costs. Those steps are explained below as work to do by hand.
A worked $250K example
Hypothetical inputs only, not an offer or a typical rate: $250,000, with 10 typed into the rate box as a round placeholder, over 60 months. Out come a payment near $5,311.76 a month, about $68,705.67 of interest, and roughly $318,705.67 repaid in all.
| Term | Monthly payment | Total interest | Total repaid |
|---|---|---|---|
| 36 months | $8,066.80 | $40,404.68 | $290,404.68 |
| 60 months | $5,311.76 | $68,705.67 | $318,705.67 |
| 84 months | $4,150.30 | $98,624.86 | $348,624.86 |
Stretching the term lowers the payment and raises the total interest. Which matters more depends on what the money buys and how fast it pays back.
Monthly payment on a $200K, $300K or $500K business loan
Change the amount box to test any figure. At the same rate and term, the payment scales in a straight line with the amount, so you can also check by hand: at the placeholder inputs above, each $1,000 borrowed costs about $21.25 a month over 60 months. That gives about $4,249 a month for $200,000, about $6,374 for $300,000 and about $10,624 for $500,000.
Business loan amortization: the first month, worked by hand
The calculator gives totals, not a month-by-month schedule. To see how the first payment splits, multiply the balance by the monthly rate: $250,000 times 10 divided by 12 hundred gives about $2,083.33 of interest in month one, so about $3,228.43 of the $5,311.76 payment reduces the balance. Each later month, interest is a little smaller and the principal share a little larger.
Months two and three of the $250K example
Carrying the by-hand schedule forward at the same placeholder inputs shows how the split shifts:
| Month | Interest | Principal | Balance after payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $2,083.33 | $3,228.43 | $246,771.57 |
| 2 | $2,056.43 | $3,255.33 | $243,516.24 |
| 3 | $2,029.30 | $3,282.46 | $240,233.78 |
Interest falls by about $27 a month here, and in these first months close to 40% of each payment is interest. That matters if you expect to pay a loan off early: ask how the partner's agreement handles it before you sign.
Steps the $250K calculator leaves for you to do by hand
Fees
Origination and other fees stay outside the result. Add them to the total repaid by hand to compare offers fairly.
Can the payment be carried?
Compare the payment with the monthly cash the expense will produce or save. The debt ratio article shows how partners look at payments against revenue.
Equipment or advance instead?
Equipment financing and merchant cash advances are priced differently; ask for the full payment schedule or total payback and compare those totals.
Where a $250K request could fit
A request this size can be a project: an expansion or second location on a term loan, a clinic fit-out for medical practices, or a kitchen and dining room for restaurants. The amount field is yours to change; Lodgeleaf does not suggest any amount. The Lexington-Fayette checklists sit alongside it on the guides page.
